Valletta mentor Danilo Doncic and Balzan coach Marko Micovic are both concentrating on their final League game which is to be played on Saturday afternoon.

The two teams are the Premier League's joint leaders on 55 points and it is evident that any of the two teams which falters on Saturday afternoon will have to surrender the title to their adversaries.

Valletta are to face Gzira United and Balzan will be playing against Hibernians at the Hibernians Stadium. Both matches kick off at 4pm.

Will it be a 24th League title win for Valletta or a first ever win for Balzan? Of course, more will be known after Saturday's matches, but the title hunt could also finish in a decider if the two teams win, draw or lose their encounters.

While admitting that Valletta made a false step last week by drawing against 10-man Floriana, coach Danilo Doncic said he is full of confidence in his players. "I am convinced they will be able to put aside that result and concentrate totally on the match against Gzira. We will be going all out to win the three points. It is a very important match but we are looking forward towards a victory. With all the season now hinging on the last 90 minutes, my players will be more motivated than they were last week," he said.

On the other hand, Gzira coach Darren Abdilla said his side does not need any points as they are already sure of finishing third and therefore have earned a berth in next season's Europa League. "But despite having two suspended players, we will be playing our normal game and hope to get a double against Valletta - we had beaten them in the first round. I believe that without any pressure as will be the case Saturday, we can play much better than we did throughout this past season, which was one which provided us with a lot of satisfactions," said the Maroons coach.

Badilla added: "My squad is replete with talented players and I do not think those two suspended players will make a lot of difference. We are also aware that Valletta have some defects and we must put those to our advantage so as to be able to finish the season on a top note."

Balzan mentor Marko Micociv said he was aware that the pressure is on Balzan as he believes Hibernians will prove to be a difficult side to beat.

He added: "They have improved a lot recently and are now in a position to fight for 4th place which could mean a place in European football. They will certainly be motivated, but we are well prepared. We have treated this match as we treated all the others," he stated.

He added that the victory against Senglea last week brought back confidence in the squad after their defeat against Tarxien the previous week. "It was hard after that defeat to see the team losing the top position after five whole months and very close to the end of the competition. But that partial slip by Valletta against Floriana has let us back in strongly and we will now try hard to win the first title for the club," he said.

Club president Anton Tagliaferro, who was also present for the news conference, said he would not consider it a failure if Balzan were to lose the title to Valletta. "We had quite a successful season and we have also reached the semifinals of the FA Trophy," he added.

Hibernians' goalkeepers coach Mario Muscat made it clear that whatever the other results, Hibernians will have to concentrate on their match. "We have to know what is happening elsewhere (Floriana and Birkirkara matches). We are after the 4th place and we need to win the match to get there especially if Birkirkara falter. I cannot be happy with a draw," he said.
