Ferdine and Luke met through mutual friends at a nightclub where Luke was a DJ and Ferdine used to work, as her part-time job. One day Luke invited her to his birthday party and their love story began. They lived together for eight years and were blessed with a son before they tied the knot.

It was the natural next step forward for the couple, but even so, Luke managed to surprise Ferdine with a lovely proposal. They booked a date at the most romantic restaurant in Mdina, Bacchus. Upon arrival, Luke immediately managed to slip away to discuss with the manager the best way to propose and hand over the ring. It was agreed that it must be done during dessert.

However, after a lovely meal, Ferdine decided to skip dessert and the manager had no other choice but to present Ferdine with a signature dessert with a ring on it. “I then saw Luke drop on one knee and ask me to marry him. It was so very romantic and quite surprising since he is not the classical romantic guy”, Ferdine remembered fondly.

After the proposal, Ferdine got to know that Luke had first asked her father if he could ask her to marry him, and he had, of course, granted the request. In fact, both their mothers were very anxious for them during their date night, and were constantly calling one another as they could not contain their excitement.

They got married on October 7th in 2017, at the Sanctuary of Our Lady, in Mellieħa. The chapel was chosen because it made the ceremony feel so personal and sanctified, and added to the fairy tale wedding theme they planned for their wedding day. A reception was held afterwards at the stylish and elegant Hilton in St Julian’s.

The theme was an all-white wedding which included lots of white orchids from The Flower Shop, whose owner happens to be the groom’s mother. Even the bridesmaid had a white dress, to match the all-white theme, from DOR Boutique.

Ferdine’s mum helped a lot with the styling of the wedding attire and the whole wedding decorations together with Luke’s mum. The couple agreed that with their families’ talent they could have the wedding of their dreams.

Ferdine walked down the aisle to Luke and her son Luca in a unique dress from Eva Mariee, and one should point out that the dress was ordered specifically for her from Israel. She fell in love with the dress the moment she saw it, it was like it was made especially for her. Luke wore a most elegant suit from JD Formal Wear.

The wedding was a success it was enjoyed by everyone invited. They had various singers and bands who played throughout the celebration, including the Versatile Brass Band who played their favourite song for their first dance, Open Arms by Jeff Gutt. Other singers included Ira Losco, Ivan Filletti and Amber to mention a few, they all created a magical atmosphere.

It was a memorable experience for them both and they are very happy about the fact that they could share such an important day with their adorable son and their families.

After the wedding, they went to Thailand for their honeymoon, on a small island called KohPhangan. “Luke and I had gone there some years ago before we had Luca. The honeymoon was a good excuse to revisit this romantic island”, Ferdine, recalled.
