The Victory Day ceremony was held on Wednesday evening before the national monument dedicated to the Great Siege.

On 8 September, Malta celebrates Victory Day, commemorating the defeat of the Turks in the Great Siege of 1565 and the defeat of the Axis in the Second World War.

The ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Chris Fearne and Opposition Leader Adrian Delia.
