On Saturday morning, the young Malta Girls Under-19 national team featured in a 2-1 defeat to Romania Girls Under-19 played at the Training Grounds, Ta' Qali.  Malta's goal was scored by Chloe Ann Ellul.
This was another friendly international from a series of three matches against the Romanians in preparation for next month's UEFA Under-19 Women's European Championship qualifiers, being held in Croatia.  The Maltese girls will face none other than England, Slovakia and Croatia in a group of iron.
Earlier this week the Maltese young girls under the guidance of Frank Schembri drew 3-3, and again lost 1-3 against the same Romania side.
