Former Malta national coach Pietro Ghedin is back in Malta. Yesterday evening he was at the National Stadium watching the Premier League match between Birkirkara and Sliema W.

Sources close to the Stripes yesterday told The Malta Independent that the Italian mentor will be appointed head coach of Birkirkara FC, although Paul Zammit will also remain as coach, but as assistant to Ghedin.

The same sources said the Italian is expected to take the Stripes team in his hands as from next week. Ghedin will be expected to change at least three of the current foreigners in the club's squad in next January's transfer window.
