Kevin Azzopardi, the Malta FA Director of Refereeing, has been elected to the Refereeing Technical Commission that will oversee the running of the next edition of the Schools' World Cup, to be held in Serbia in April 2019.
The election was held last weekend in Sochi, Russia, during an Executive Committee meeting of the International School Sport Federation (ISF) that works in close collaboration with the International Olympic Committee, FIFA and UEFA.
The ISF encompasses 120 countries from around the globe and handles the organisation of similar world championships in 25 different sports.
Eight members will form part of the Football Technical Commission, led by president Konrad Berchtold (Austria), with Azzopardi, who has been elected for a four-year term, in charge of refereeing matters together with Chris Sarre (France) and Isaac Arendse (South Africa).
