The CHRISTMAS TOURNAMENT sponsored by ZMERC PUB started with wins registered by Melita, Wardija and ŻURRIEQ WOLVES to qualify for the quarter finals,

WARDIJA put aside the poor opposition put up by MOSTA who had several established players  missing. Wardija Had a good performances and with more determination  will be a team very difficult to beat. Besides,  the team is eager to improve and reach high, aiming to win at least one of the major honours. Massimo Schembri. Eric Saliba and Orosco Anonam were the scorers wiht two each.

MELITA also qualified after beating DINGLI. The score  at the end of normal time was 6-6. The penalty shoot out was to determine the team to pass on the next round. All went well untl the third penalty when Edwin Casha failed to score for Dingli and Melita scoring all five to qualify. For Melita in the second half  they missed the scoring abiities of Michael Galea who got injured. He had already scored two goals. William Borg was the player of he game with five goals and Paolo Bugeja being the best for Melita with his brilliant saves. The game was interesting throughout and a draw was a fi result. Both teams had asome players missing, Brian Sai forMelita and Garth Sciberras, CaroMamo for Dingli

ZURRIEQ WOLVES also qualified for the quarter finals after beating NAXXAR MASTERS 5-3 on penalties after they finished 3-3 in normal time. The game was interesting and balanced throughout. It was after sixteen minutes that Naxxar opened the score by Kevin Fenech, but before going for the break Zurieq managed to take the lead 2-1.  Soon after the start of the second half Zurrieq scored again, but Naxxar after a great effort scored the two goals they needed to manage a draw and let the penalties decide. Here Zurrieq scored all and  Naxxar were beaten 5-3. 

In the MAPFRE/MSV  Life MASTERS PREMIER LEAGUE, VALLETTS  gained their first points, after they beat Rabat 4-2. It was a fair result with Valletta with the better ideas in attack.  Rabat with no points so far remained at th bottom of the standing. Liam Vidal after being injured returned for Valletta with a good performance. He is a strong player and very difficut to control. He scored a good goal and was denied several times.

MARSA WHITE STARS were too strong for MELITA winning 6-2 to go top along with DINGLI.  Who is going to be crowned winter champions? The game between these two giants of Masters Football, MARSA  and DINGLI, will decide. It will be a great show. Ricardo SEVEERINO of Marsa who scored four against MELITA is the PLAYER OF THE MONTH for October and the presentation will be held this week.
