The Passion and Death of Jesus Christ were commemorated in various towns and villages in Good Friday processions that attracted thousands.

Maltese, Gozitans and foreigners attended in droves as statues were carried around the streets in a sombre atmosphere, while many other participants added to the colour by

dressing up as personalities from the Bible.
