The presence of the Island of the Knights in the ‘Sicilia da Gustare’ guide published by Carmelo Pagano, is growing.   This time for the third consecutive year, Malta will be well-represented by some of its best restaurants.

In the 2019-2020 edition, which will be distributed next month with The Independent, that ideal ‘bridge’ connecting the two islands – with different cultures, languages and traditions, but both lying in the centre of the Mediterranean Sea - will be consolidated.

‘Sicilia da Gustare’ will provide very useful tips to both Sicilian and Maltese readers, with the aim of making them live delicious gourmet experiences, and inspiring new travel destinations.

The Guide itself loves travelling, thanks to a wide distribution by sea (on Virtu Ferries catamarans) and by air (on Air Malta flights), but also with a print run of around 30,000 copies distributed among the various restaurants and companies listed inside the book, as well supplements in La Sicilia and The Malta Independent.

“Our guide is increasingly becoming a useful instrument to bring closer together the peoples on both sides of the Mediterranean, just a few miles of distance from each other,” publisher Carmelo Pagano says.  

“As a Sicilian, I am fascinated by the lively tourism activity of Malta and I realised that, in addition to accommodation tourist service, the island is developing a strong high-quality catering sector, with an excellent food and wine offering.
