What should have been a relaxing day by the beach in Sliema turned out not to be so lovely for swimmers who chose a spot beneath the tower, between Exiles and Find Ghadir.

At one point, one of the bathers said, a “roaring noise” broke the spell and dirty water gushed out of one of the overhead street culverts.

The footage shows the water coming down and making its way onto the rocks below, settling in places previously occupied by the bathers who picked up their stuff and made off.

“It looked disgusting. People were grabbing there stuff moving away and staring at it in dismay. What the heck was that??”, one bather commented
