Excavation work was being carried out in Sliema today in spite of a summer ban.
The work was being carried out in the former parking area at the Regina Hotel in Tower Road.
The road in question is listed as a tourist area by the Planning Authority, and no excavation or demolition work can be carried out during the peak tourist season.
A woman, Susan Mompalao de Piro, filmed the work - which was taking place at around 1pm - and uploaded the footage on the social media.
The Malta Independent tried to contact the Building Regulations Office, but the number for after office hours complaints is switched off.
