A penalty scored by Santana in the fifth minute of stoppage time saved Gudja's unbeaten record as the side led by Josef Mansueto gained their third successive draw of the season.

Santa Lucia and their coach Oliver Spiteri must be bitterly disappointed for the way they let the victory slip their grasp. Santa Lucia were the better team and deserved the victory with Ante Rosero having a great match.

Santa Lucia were always in control but hey failed to score that second goal that would have killed the match, and in the end they were made to pay dearly for this.

The first half was very cagey with very few scoring opportunities. Santa Lucia had more of the ball as their forwards were in constant pressure over the Gudja back four.

This made it very hard for Gudja to move the ball in the first half and their only solution was long balls for the fast Winchester. But the Trinidad and Tobago striker was rarely effective, too isolated, and with Zuniga always at his heels.

As said very few shots at goal, all practically off target from freekicks, some of which from ideal positions. On seven minutes Gudja goalkeeper was caught out of position to block Maycon, who was later substituted, the ball fell to Mendoza who failed o shoot home from a distance.

On 13 minutes Santana had a freekick going over the bar and on the other end it was Bohrer's time to try his luck from a freekick but again his shot went over the bar. On 42 minutes Santa Lucia broke the deadlock when Kevin Ante Rosero scored a beauty with a scorcher from more than 25 meters, with goalkeeper Debono having no chance to save.

In the second half Santa Lucia continued to hold the edge but scoring chances were very few on both ends. Gudja could still find a way towards goal as the Santa Lucia kept their pressing high upsetting the Gudja midfield.

Two minutes into the second half Nick Borg had a freekick sailing over the bar and on 65 minutes Santa Lucia missed a golden opportunity to seal the match when Ante Rosero gave a long ball towards Tachikawa who failed to beat Debono all alone in front of goal.

On 77 minutes the same Tachikawa had another effort going well over the bar. In the final stages Gudja pushed everything forward as Santa Lucia were now feeling the pressure. On 79 minutes Caruana saved his side with a brilliant save off a Friggieri point blank effort.

Gudja's desperate long balls were easy prey for Santa Lucia defenders Bohrer and Zuniga and Santa Lucia looked for victory when on 95 minutes Winchester went loose on the right and was pushed by Escobar who was rather late and clumsy in the tackle, with referee Grech awarding the penalty.

From the spot Santana fired home to give Gudja their third consecutive draw of the season.
