Former President Marie Louise Coleir Preca has joined in the chorus against the projected expansion of the premises of the American University of Malta in Cottonera.

A protest will be held tomorrow against the project.

Writing on Facebook, Coleiro Preca said that young people need more spaces for recreation. The planned expansion of the AUM in Cottonera will take up more of the limited space available, she said.

Coleiro Preca said she wanted to join voluntary organisations in their protest against the project, saying that open spaces should be maintained for the benefit of the community.
