Gozitan MP Anton Refalo has highlighted that while the majority has the power to decide,'it is necessary to take into account how the minority feels.'

The MP wrote on Facebook that to be an elected politician is an honour. "It is also challenging. It is about finding a balance between listening and acting for the best of all. As for every stage or position in life, turbulence and challenges brings about chances to improve, just as every problem always has more than one solution."

"Democracy is not only a form of Constitution. It is a state of mind. Not only is it wanted that people express their opinion, it is also necessary for a democratic process to unfold and contribute to further development of a community or country."

"I have been a member of the Parliamentary Group since 1987, and I see it as my duty to carry out the mandate given to me for the best of all, and I am sure that the rest of the Parliamentary Group feels the same way."

"Even though the majority has the power to decide, it is necessary to take into account how the minority feels. After all, we are not only members or supporters of political parties, we are first of all Gozitan and Maltese."

Following the 2017 general elections, Prime Minister Joseph Muscat did not reappoint Refalo as the Minister for Gozo, instead choosing to appoint Justyne Caruana.
