ELG step it up for the European Week for Waste Reduction

Thursday, 28 November 2019, 11:06 Last update: about 5 years ago

Eden Leisure Group and its Green Committee have been hard at work organising a number of initiatives for the European Week for Waste Reduction. They supported the cause with the theme, Change your ways, reduce your waste.

Throughout the whole of last week, Eden Leisure Group initiated a national campaign. The campaign included informative radio ads on 89.7 Bay and social media posts online. The nine-day-long campaign also consisted of a number of events, encouraging the reduction of waste.

Throughout the last month, the Eden Leisure Group collected unwanted clothing items from their employees. Last week, ELG donated these clothes to Dar Merhba Bik in Balzan and Appogg in Guardamangia with the aim that these clothes are reused rather than thrown away.

Additionally last Saturday, 89.7 Bay's Daniel & Ylenia visited Ta' Qali to distribute 200 re-usable cloth bags to shoppers in the area. ELG teamed up with Veco to raise awareness and encourage people to avoid taking disposable bags and instead use reusable ones.

All of this was part of ELG and its Green Committee's mission to make Malta a greener and cleaner place.
