Updated: Miriam Dalli feels ‘angry, betrayed’, Daphne's son challenges her to join protesters

Labour MEP Miriam Dalli this morning said that she feels angry and betrayed, adding that she knows that many people are sharing her emotions and feeling “disoriented”, including Labourites.

Writing on Facebook, Dalli said that what is happening is not a question of Labourites and Nationalists. “This is a question that concerns the whole country”, she wrote.

Matters should not be prolonged and all questions need to be answered. Justice needs to be carried out and be seen to be carried out. “We must protect our country before anything else because this is the Malta and Gozo where my children will grow,” she said.

“These are difficult times. But I am convinced that together we can become stronger and focus on the values that made us and led us, such as social justice and helping the most vulnerable. We have the duty towards the thousands who believe in us and trusted us, and who without us will be broken. As we stood up in other difficult moments, I am convinced that we will stand up again, better and more determined.

In a reaction, Matthew Caruana Galizia, one of Daphne's three sons, challenged Dalli to join the protesters against Joseph Muscat.
