Former President and business pioneer Mr Louis A. Farrugia, presented a copy of his biographical book '40 Years at the Helm' to Chamber President Perit David Xuereb and the members of the Chamber's Board of Management on Thursday.
Receiving the book, Perit Xuereb saluted Mr Farrugia's long career at the helm of one of Malta's most iconic and successful business empires. He said that Farsons was precisely the case when entrepreneurship becomes an appointment with history, and carves itself a place in the collective consciousness of a people.
Mr Xuereb also referred to Mr Farrugia's involvement at the Chamber, as well as the historical ties between the two organisations.
On behalf of the Chamber, Perit Xuereb augured Mr Farrugia many more years of successes, at the helm of his many responsibilities and as an inspiring role model to many others.
Mr Louis A. Farrugia, Chairman of the Farsons Group, launched his publication '40 Years at the Helm', last December in a private event with close family, friends and colleagues. The book is published by Kite Group and supported by the Farsons Foundation.
Mr Farrugia has been at the helm of Farsons for the past 40 years, having been appointed Managing Director designate in 1979, effective as from 1st April 1980. He is also the Chairman of Multigas, Liquigas and Farrugia Investment Groups.
'40 years at the Helm' is a first-hand account and a celebration of the Maltese people's will and ability in bravely overcoming numerous challenges, including that of competitiveness at a European and global level. Mr Farrugia shares his experiences as an entrepreneur and a social leader with the context of the radical changes in the international and the Maltese socio-political and economic scenario.
Mr Farrugia presented copies of the book to the Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry during a meeting of the Board of Management on Thursday 6th February 2020.
