The government has issued a ‘factsheet' regarding the lockdown for persons aged 65 and over, and the chronically ill that will come into effect on Saturday, which contains new information.

One major new announcement seems to be the exemptions by which the aforementioned people are able to leave their home when necessary.

Those people under lockdown will now be able to leave their homes to purchase food, medicinals and other necessities, and for urgent personal necessities.

Some examples of such personal necessities were given, including needing to conduct urgent work for a limited time, to exercise their child visitation rights (for separated parents) as per court order, to feed or care for their animals that are not kept at home, among other things.

They will also be able to leave to attend medical appointments, as previously stated.

The vulnerable people who leave their homes for the aforementioned reasons are to assure that they do not stay out longer than is needed and abide by the directives issued by the health authorities regarding social distancing.

It also states that people who live with the vulnerable people are able to leave the home only for certain things, such as to go to work, buy necessities, attend a medical appointment, among other things.

The full factsheet can be read here.
