Wednesday, 1 April 2020, 10:57 Last update: about 5 years ago

The Lidl store in Safi was closed at least for today after a worker tested positive to Coronavirus.

Superintendent of Public Health Charmaine Gauci told Times of Malta on Wednesday that the worker had had minimal contact with the store’s clients.

She however urged custimers who visited the supermarket between Thursday, March 26 and Monday, March 30 to be on the lookout for any symptoms linked to the disease.

Sore throat, fever, cough, shortness of breath and a loss of smell or taste are all considered Coronavirus symptoms. Anyone with symptoms should contact the COVID-19 helpline on 111.

The worker was one of 13 people who tested positive for the virus on Tuesday.

The store is now closed for disinfection.
