Two men were arrested minutes after they committed a theft, one of which was to the detriment of a food delivery person, the police said.

A 19-year-old Hamrun man was arrested after stealing money from a food delivery person in Qawra. The incident took place in Qawra Road at 4pm.

The food delivery person was approached by the Hamrun man who asked to exchange some money. When the employee took out money from his pocket, the aggressor snatched it away from him and ran off into a block of apartments.

Police assistance was sought and the man was later arrested.

It was the fifth hold-up in a week on food delivery persons.

In the second case, police on patrol noticed an outlet with a broken door and lights on in Gizwiti Street, Marsa, at around 2am last night.

Looking inside, they noticed a man wearing a hoodie inside the premises. The latter tried to escape from the back door but the police arrested him. He is a 17-year-old Libyan.

Both are to be charged with theft before Magistrate Charmaine Galea.
