56-year-old man becomes 8th victim of Coronavirus in Malta

A 56-year-old man has become the eighth victim of Coronavirus in Malta, the Health Ministry said.

The man had previous chronic conditions, the statement said. He had been admitted to Mater Dei Hospital after testing positive on 16 May, a diagnosis confirmed a day later.

The ministry said the man died at Mater Dei Hospital last night.

It expressed its condolences to the family and urged the people to follow instructions by the health authorities.

He becomes the second youngest victim of the virus in Malta.

Wednesday 13 May – Man, 53, Mater Dei Hospital

Wednesday 27 May – Man, 97, Karin Grech Hospital
