Minister for Tourism and Consumer Protection, Julia Farrugia Portelli has contacted the Federation of English Language Teaching Organisation Malta (FELTOM) and said that English language schools will open in July.

Whilst most businesses and establishments have opened their doors, ELT schools remain firmly shut.

FELTOM had informed this newsroom that they are expecting a 'bleak summer, in spite of the re-opening and re-start of business'. "We will surely not reach or even get anywhere close to the 40,000 student mark of previous years, but it is more likely to be just a few hundred at best," explained, the CEO of FELTOM.

The Minister for Tourism has since contacted FELTOM, informing the federation that the ministry is working on adding more destinations to travel to Malta in July. She informed the Federation that the added destinations will aid the re-opening of ELT schools.
