PL MP Konrad Mizzi has returned to Malta, and was filmed by Net News leaving the Malta International Airport wearing a mask.

Mizzi has not attended parliament since 13 March having submitted a medical certificate to justify his absence and has been in the UK. It was recently revealed that he was still receiving his full salary as an MP.

Controversy has surrounded the minister's absence, with many asking why he was not in the country.

Mizzi, questioned by Net News, said that he was abroad on business, was unwell and remained there until he felt better.

He refused to answer questions about missing the Parliamentary debate on the hospitals deal which took place while he was abroad, saying he was very tired after a long trip. He said he is now going into 2-weeks quarantine.
