A woman was seriously injured when she was hit by a hard object thrown in her direction during an argument involving three foreigners, the police said in a statement.
The 45-year-old Hungarian woman, resident in St Paul’s Bay, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The incident took place in Majjiera Street, St Paul’s Bay.
It involved the woman and two men, a 43-year-old man from Slovakia and a 26-year-old man from Macedonia, all of whom reside in the locality.
The police said the Macedonian man threw a hard object and hit the woman.
He was taken to the police headquarters for further questioning.
