Former OPM chief of staff Keith Schembri refused to answer journalists' questions as he emerged from court on Monday.

Schembri testified in another sitting in the compilation of evidence against Yorgen Fenech. The 17 Black owner stands charged with being a mastermind in the murder of Daphne Caruana Galizia.

Schembri was surrounded by his entourage of lawyers and proteges as he emerged from the courthouse, with controversial former diplomat Neville Gafa leading the pack.

Journalists asked him various questions, including whether he had ever received money from Fenech and why he had not said earlier that he knew that 17 Black was owned by his former friend, but Schembri remained silent as he walked to a car that was waiting to pick him up.

Earlier in court, Schembri denied passing on information from the investigation and passing a note to Fenech through a doctor. He also claimed that Opposition Opposition Leader Adrian Delia had gone to Fenech to ask for €50,000 euros for David Casa not to be elected, and that the PN used to collect €20,000 a month from the businessman.
