Nationalist MP Stephen Spiteri said he abstained when he was asked by the President on his position regarding Adrian Delia.
Spiteri was among the MPs who met President George Vella last week after the PN parliamentary group passed a vote of no confidence in Opposition Leader Adrian Delia.
Spiteri is believed to have been one of the MPs who voted against Delia, but in the meeting with the President, Spiteri said he had abstained when asked what his position was.
Spiteri, who was speaking to One, said he had discussed the matter with the President, believing that as an MP he was representing the people who elected him. “I am registered as having abstained,” Spiteri said.
