Packs relating to water consumption will be distributed across the Maltese islands as part of a water conservation campaign, the Energy & Water Management Ministry announced on Friday.

The national water conservation campaign entitled 'Water - Be the Change' or 'L-Ilma - Ibda Minnek' was launched last year to raise awareness about the importance of water conservation, and has improved its work in a number of localities after contact with residents had to stop these past months due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Water Management Minister Michael Farrugia was in Mosta today, where hundreds of people went to pick up a tool package to use at home to help reduce water consumption.

Every primary residence in Malta and Gozo will receive a visit from one of the team officials, who wil distribute packs door to door, which include an aerator to reduce the flow of water while keeping the same pressure, as well as a plate scraper, which will help ensure that dirty plates be able to be washed more easily both in the sink and the dishwasher.

The pack also includes information leaflets explaining how people can conserve water, as well as a voucher for a second packet of toold that help save on water consumption. The second pack includes fiver effective apparatus, such as a low flow shower head. Vouchers can be used in a mobile unit or from the National Water Conservation Centre Information Office in Rabat.
