Animal Welfare rescues puppy after owner filmed physically abusing it

Friday, 31 July 2020, 15:45 Last update: about 7 months ago

Animal Welfare have rescued a pitbull puppy after its owner was filmed physically abusing it in the balcony of a flat.

The case was reported on by animal rights activist Alison Bezzina, who said that the man was filmed on Friday morning kicking the puppy, with puppy’s cries ringing out across the whole area.

An urgent report with the Police was made, and Animal Welfare workers almost immediately intervened to rescue the puppy from the abuser.

Bezzina said that the abuser is also expected to be charged in court.

It should be noted that cropped ears, as there are on the puppy, are also illegal, with Bezzina saying that the man should be prosecuted for that as well.

The footage, which may be distressing for some, can be viewed below.
