Four people working on the Jurassic World film in Malta have tested positive for Covid-19, the health authorities confirmed with The Malta Independent.

The film's local production team, in an official statement, said that "four members of the advanced crew currently working in Malta have tested positive for COVID-19, and were immediately put into isolation. Anyone that may have been in contact with these crew members have been contacted and are also isolating.  There are currently no cast in Malta and there are no delays to production at this time."

Earlier in August, it was announced that Universal Pictures' blockbuster movie - Jurassic World: Dominion will include filming in Valletta, Vittoriosa, Mellieħa and Pembroke.

The Malta Film Commission had confirmed that filming was to commence by the end of August.

The Malta Film Commission had said, when the local filming was originally announced, that it is fully collaborating with the Health Authority to make sure all safety precautions are kept with strict protocols.

Some 5,000 swab tests were to be used for the 1,000 strong crew while they are in the country. It seems that these swab tests have now resulted in four positive cases.

The latest Jurassic World Movie released in 2018 managed to make $1.3 billion worldwide, ranking 15th worldwide.
