The long-standing programme Xarabank has been removed from the PBS schedule, its producer and presenter Peppi Azzopardi said.
In a post on Facebook, Azzopardi said that this has been done although in the latest surveys carried out by the Broadcasting Authority, it was still the most popular programme in Malta.
He said Xarabank had never been found guilty of creating an imbalance, collected millions of liri/euros for philanthropic organisations, and won several awards as a current affairs programme, investigative journalism and footage filmed in foreign countries.
Azzopardi thanked the tens who took part in the production, the hundreds who took part as speakers and the thousands who followed the programme in the last 23 years.
