Poland has become the latest country to issue restrictions on travel to and from Malta, with a ban on flights for two weeks.
The ban will come into force from 2 September and run for two weeks until 15 September.
It applies to 44 countries, including Malta, as Poland tries to curb a renewed surge in Covid-19 cases in the country.
Poland currently has 18,834 active cases of the virus, having increased from around 8,000 in mid-July.
The Polish government had already advised against all unnecessary travel to Malta, having made that announcement on 21 August, citing the increase of Covid-19 cases in Malta as the reason for this advice.
