A man is being held by the police after he tried to enter the building housing the Environment Ministry in Santa Venera.

In a Facebook post, Environment Minister Aaron Farrugia thanked the officers who intervened to apprehend the man “who allegedly tried to commit a theft from the ministry.

The man was seen jumping over the boundary wall by the security officer on duty. The police were called and members of the Rapid Intervention Unit went on site to arrest the man.

He was taken to the Hamrun police station for questioning.
