A group of girls who received their first Holy Communion this year have donated their hair to the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation.
In a brief address, President George Vella spoke about the suffering of people who were sick and who are being helped by being provided wigs.
Vella thanked the girls for their charitable gesture, saying it goes a long way as a contribution to make other people’s lives better.
Matilde Balzan, who is responsible for the wigs section of the MCCFF, said that 800 wigs have been distributed in the last six years.
The girls were presented with a token by the President’s wife Miriam Vella.
