Various localities across Malta experienced power cuts as the storm that battered Malta throughout Monday damaged one of Enemalta’s electricity distribution networks.
“Enemalta plc would like to inform the public that due to the current weather conditions, it has experienced a fault on its distribution network that led to a power cut in parts of Zebbug, Qormi, Hamrun, Sta. Venera, Wardija, Bidnija, Luqa, Tarxien and Gudja”, Enemalta said in a short statement on their Facebook page.
“Our personnel are doing their utmost to solve the issue and restore electricity supply in the shortest time possible”, Enemalta said.
Flooding has been reported in several roads as heavy rains have been hitting Malta since early afternoon, with a warning that the conditions may deteriorate further over the course of the rest of the day in place.
