Nexia BT passport-selling licence suspended

Nexia BT’s license to sell passports as part of the Individual Investor Programme has been suspended, only two days after the company had its assets frozen by a court order.

The Malta Individual Investor Programme Agency announced that it had suspended the licence of the firm with operating under the code IIP 003 – which was a company called BT International and Nexia BT.

BT International is a firm owned by Nexia BT.  Karl Cini was listed as the contact person in the agency’s list of passport agents.

The news comes after Nexia BT and all the companies associated with it had their assets frozen by a court order, and after two Nexia partners – Cini and Brian Tonna – were arrested by police.

The agency said that Nexia’s licence was being suspended “until further notice”.
