The PN leadership election is over, but the conflict continues

Anyone who thought that the election of a new leader would have calmed the waters in the Nationalist Party might have to rethink the situation.

It’s been just three days since Bernard Grech took over the leadership from Adrian Delia, and the guns are already blazing.

And the protagonists are the same.

It started with Jason Azzopardi, one of the rebel MPs who made life so hard for his previous leader, with a comment on Facebook.

Azzopardi questioned why Prime Minister Robert Abela did not want to meet Grech at Castille when, Azzopardi insinuated, Abela had held meetings with Delia at his office. Azzopardi also gave dates as to when these meetings allegedly took place.

Delia replied, in no uncertain terms, telling Azzopardi that if he is trying to creat fiction between him and Grech, then he will fail. "Everyone is seeing the damage you are causing to the Nationalist Party. Stop your inventions and lies. And if you want scrutiny, start with your good self".
