102 new cases of Covid-19 were found overnight, health authorities announced in their daily update on the situation pertaining to the pandemic.
The number is identical to the number of cases reported on Sunday.
82 new recoveries were also registered, meaning that the number of active cases now stands at 1,980.
2,851 swab tests were carried out in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of swab tests up to 364,249 so far.
Authorities said that today’s cases are still being investigated, but gave details about the cases reported on Sunday.
Out of the 102 cases reported on Sunday: 12 were contacts of positive work colleagues, 9 were family members of previously known cases, 4 were direct contacts of positive cases, and another 1 was from a social gathering.
Malta has had a total of 7,243 cases of Covid-19 since the pandemic first hit the islands. 5,185 of those have recovered, while 78 have died.
