The PBS Board will be appealing the judgment handed down by the Industrial Relations Tribunal wherein it found that former CEO John Bundy had been unfairly dismissed.
The tribunal had ordered the national broadcaster to pay Bundy €226,500 in compensation.
PBS said its board had sought independent advice from three legal firms, all of which confirmed that there is a solid base for an appeal.
The Board said it is dutybound to safeguard the interests of the company. The company said it is partly funded by public funds and its board will act with caution and responsibility.
