The government will grant €1,000 to each eatery establishment affected by the measures announced on Thursday, Tourism Minister Clayton Bartolo announced.
As part of the government's plan to reduce the spread of Covid-19, it introduced new restrictive measures. Among other things, restaurants, kiosks and snack bars will only be allowed to provide a take-away services. These establishments will receive the €1,000.
This new scheme amounts to around €2 million
The minister announced that applications have opened for those entitled to the assistance, and the applications will be processed by the Malta Tourism Authority. The establishments will then receive the one-time payment by end March.
