268 new cases of Covid-19 found as another patient passes away

268 new cases of Covid-19 were reported on Sunday as another patient passed away while positive for the virus, health authorities said.

An 89-year-old man passed away at Mater Dei Hospital in the previous 24 hours, becoming Malta’s 351st victim so far.

287 people meanwhile have recovered from the virus, taking the number of active cases down to 3,124.

4,305 swab tests were administered on Saturday, taking the total number of swab tests up to 755,060 so far.

120,073 doses of the vaccine have been administered so far, with 39,099 people have received both doses of the vaccine.

Malta has had 26,535 cases of the virus so far. 23,060 have recovered, while 351 have died.
