191 new cases of Covid-19 found as one more patient passes away

191 new cases of Covid-19 were reported by health authorities on Monday as another patient passed away in the last 24 hours.

A 99-year-old woman passed away at the Good Samaritan Long Term Care Facility, becoming the 373rd person to die in Malta while positive for the virus.

Meanwhile, 323 people have recovered from the virus, taking the number of active cases down to 2,603 – the lowest it has been since 26 February, almost a month ago.

3,413 swab tests were administered on Sunday, taking the number of swab tests done so far up to 787,148.

145,934 doses of the vaccine had been administered up until Sunday, with 44,483 people having received both doses of the vaccine so far.

This means that just over 100,000 people have received at least one dose of the vaccine.

Malta has had 28,319 cases of the virus so far. 25,343 of those have recovered, while 373 have died.
