62 new cases found as two more patients pass away

62 new cases of Covid-19 were reported by health authorities on Saturday as two more patients passed away in the last 24 hours.

Two men aged 65 and 62 years passed away at Mater Dei Hospital while Covid positive, meaning that 397 people have died while positive for the virus.

114 people meanwhile have recovered, meaning that the number of active cases now stands at 633, having decreased once again.

2,289 swab tests were administered on Friday, taking the total number of swab tests up to 815,752 so far.

209,065 doses of the vaccine have been administered thus far, while 57,123 people have received both doses of the jab.

Malta has had 29,189 cases of the virus. 28,159 of those have recovered, while 397 have died.
