BirdLife Malta has published a video showing a bird that was injured after accidentally being caught on a fishing line weeks ago being released back into the wild.

On Easter Sunday, A group of Scopoli's Shearwater birds had been filmed as having been accidentally caught on a fishing line just off the Comino shore.

Some of the birds were, on that day, rescued by members of the public. One of the birds was handed over to BirdLife Malta.

Following a week of care, the bird was able to be let back into the wild.
