A 40-year-old Polish San Gwann resident was grievously injured in a traffic accident in Swieqi at 2.30pm, the police said.

The incident occurred on Triq Sant' Andrija. The 40-year-old was riding a Benelli motorbike, and was involved in a crash with a Volkswagen Polo. The Polish man was rushed to hospital.

Investigations are ongoing.
