The Nationlist Party will be presenting a number of proposals to the electorate regarding new sectors for the economy which will aim to protect the environment and avoid making any profit from precarious work, Opposition Leader Bernard Grech said.

“We want an economy which puts people first. An economy in which growth and investment prosper, and where the current economic niches continue to grow and strengthen. In a creative but courageous manner, we seek to attract and construct new economic niches that create quality work in order to have a more resilient economy and good quality jobs,” he said.

The Nationalist Party is currently working on building a number of new sectors for the eocnomy to eventually submit its proposals to the electorate.

During a visit on Wednesday to the Lufthansa Technik in Luqa, PN Leader Grech said that today it is evident how the aviation sector, which was built and strengthened by the Nationalist governments, is a very successful sector.

He said that Lufthansa Technik is an 18-year success story, and a testament to the success of the aviation sector that has been created in Malta.

“The Nationalist Party will be attracting a number of new economic sectors, and in the coming weeks we will present our plans to the electorate. These new sectors are being developed by the party together with local industry leaders, academics and other individuals who all aim to have an economy that does not harm the environment and does not make any profit from precarious work,” Grech said.

During the visit, Grech was accompanied by the Opposition Spokesperson for Finance and Air Malta, Mario de Marco, the candidates, James Aaron Ellul and John Baptist Camilleri, as well as Denis Vella from the Solidarity Workers Nationalist Party (SHPN).
