A girl aged nine was injured and a man was seriously hurt in a traffic accident in Marsa on Friday evening, the police said.

The accident took place in Triq il-Karmnu at 11.15pm.

It involved a Toyota Auris driven by a 30-year-old man of Qormi, and a Honda Fit, driven by a woman aged 32, resident of Marsa.

A 33-year-old man and a nine-year-old girl were riding as passengers in the Honda.

Both were taken to hospital, with the girl suffering slight injuries while the man was seriously hurt.
