Transport Malta said today that one of its officials last Saturday was assaulted in Mriehel.

The incident happened in Triq l-Imdina, Mrieħel, where an agency official “was assaulted by employees of a contractor carrying out roadworks”.

The authority said it condemns any disrespectful behaviour towards its enforcement officials and supports the action taken by the Police Force in this case.

Transport Malta appealed for respect towards its officials and thanks them for their hard work, and recognises the importance of the roadworks currently being carried out.
