920 people fined for Covid-19 regulation breaches in past week

920 people were fined in relation to breaches of Covid-19 regulations in the past week, authorities said on Monday.

685 people – the majority – were fined for breaching rules in relation to the wearing of face-masks.  The wearing of face masks outdoors remains obligatory at all times, with those restrictions expected to be relaxed on 1 July for those who are fully vaccinated.

71 people meanwhile were fined for being in groups larger than what is allowed by law, as per social gathering measures which the country has implemented.

148 people were also fined for breaching regulations related to social gatherings inside private residences.  Currently these are limited to people from a maximum of four different households.

10 establishments meanwhile were fined for breaching regulations pertaining to their opening (or lack thereof).

Another six people were fined for breaking a mandatory quarantine period.
