Two new cases of Covid-19 were reported by health authorities on Monday.

Four people meanwhile have recovered, while no new deaths were reported, meaning that the number of active cases has decreased by two to 66.

1,722 swab tests were done on Sunday, taking the total number of swab tests so far up to 926,764.

Meanwhile, 515,662 swab tests were administered up until Sunday, with 316,747 of those being first doses.  208,118 people are currently fully vaccinated.

It means that 3,448 doses of the vaccine were administered between Saturday and Sunday – a significantly lower number than what we are used to, owing no doubt to a shortage in Pfizer vaccines reported by The Malta Independent on Sunday and Monday.

A spokesperson told this newsroom on Monday that "some Pfizer appointments had to be rescheduled by a couple of days due to less doses being delivered by the supplier."

Malta has had 30,535 cases of the virus so far. 30,050 of those have recovered, while 419 have died.
