Man arrested after theft from vehicles and Luqa office

A 33-year old man living in Għargħur was arrested in connection with a number of vehicle thefts as well as a theft from an office in Luqa, the police said.

The alleged thefts happened in vehicles located in Qormi, Luqa and Paola and took place between 6 June and 17 June, 2021.

It was reported that tools, documents and money were stolen. The same vehicles were also damaged.


The man was arrested while the Qormi District Police were monitoring a suspicious person in the vicinity of Triq l-Iljun in Qormi.

The man is expected to be charged on Saturday before Magistrate Claire Stafrace Zammit.

The prosecution will be led by Inspectors Roderick Agius and Sarah Kathleen Zerafa.
